Gift Guide for Homesteading Women Brianna Hart, November 9, 2023December 4, 2023 Christmas time is here! Happiness and cheer! Fun for all! Except those of us who have no idea what gift to get. I pride myself on being the person that comes up with good gifts. I don’t love gifts that are just stuff (knick knacks, decor, etc). In fact, they drive me crazy! To me, there is nothing more impersonal than a gift that someone typed into Amazon. That’s coming from someone who gets several of them too and has to put on that cringey smile and fake thank yous. Not a fun experience. I recognize that this can be a hard experience. Not everyone has a partner or a family that pays attention when they mention things they could use. My family might not pay attention but I’m hoping you can make the women in your lives feel heard and appreciated with this updated gift guide for homesteading women. Why Am I Updating?Let’s get one thing straight- our needs change. Even as a blog writer you can see how things have changed for us over the years. As I grow and change, so are the lists. I still think the old gift guide that I wrote is a great one and there are still many of these items that I would highly recommend. However, I want to make sure that we’re keeping up with the times and getting the most bang for our buck. I guess that’s the reason behind this updated gift guide for homesteading women.Fruit TreesFirst and foremost, get your woman some fruit trees! Or bushes, those would be great too. This is the gift that just keeps on giving. If the woman in your life enjoys gardening or cooking from scratch she will love having her own trees to pick produce. It’s so exciting to see them grow but it takes time. The earlier that you can get these planted, the better. So, now is the time! Order up your trees from Nature Hills Nursery or go to your local nursery to pick out a few. We’ve planted trees from all different places and have had good luck. They just require a lot of attention and love to get them going. Stainless Steel PansIf there is one toxin that you need to throw out it is teflon pans. They are truly terrible for us. I understand that there are toxins around us constantly. The stats on those old non-stick pans are pretty darn bad though. These make a super great gift and a wonderful upgrade for the woman in your life. There are cheaper ones through Brandless but I haven’t tried them so I can’t speak to their quality. I do like the other items that I’ve tried from Brandless though!Organic Cotton LeggingsA lot of people steer clear of leggings because they are made with awful fabrics. Another toxin that we don’t need in or around our nether areas. The pact leggings have been awesome so far. I’m in no way affiliated with them but I’ve truly enjoyed them. I sized up and regretted that, these are very true to size. The quality is good and they are made with organic cotton which is great to have around your nether region. There are also some other versions on Amazon but either way, this is a great product that also doesn’t break the budget. An ApronThis is something that you could have custom made for the woman in your life. It’s something that checks the boxes for both practical and thoughtful. I highly recommend it! Grab one that you think she will like on Etsy- these linen ones are beautiful! The other option here is to find a vintage one! The vintage ones are beautiful. Though you aren’t able to personalize them, I think they are still plenty personal and beautiful too. A RobeNothing says chicken chores like a nice robe. I have a great big thick robe that I don’t love to use. That is why I’m recommending a nice flannel robe as part of our gift guide for homesteading women. Perfect for chilly mornings but thin enough to wear year round. This is another item you can grab from Pact or right on Amazon. Pair this with some nice slippers and your wife will be thankful. Of course, make sure she doesn’t already have one and/or needs a new one. No one likes clothing waste!BONUS: Cast IronI was only going to give my top 5 items but I think it’s worth mentioning the sheer amount of gifts that you can get that fall under the cast iron category. Even if you bought the lady in your life a pan last year, there is still more cast iron to be given. If you gave one cast iron pan per year, you’d have years and years worth of gifts to give. Outside of the standard cast iron skillets there are several more options:Square Griddle Small Skillet Large Skillet Lids Pie Pan Loaf Pan Round Dutch Oven Rectangle Dutch Oven Grill Pan Round Griddle Casserole Pan Baking Pan Wedge Pan Cornstick Pan Melting Pot Pizza Pan Biscuit Pan Bakers Skillet Or just grab a bundle and check a bunch of these off the list. In Summary: Updated Gift Guide for Homesteading WomenI know a lot of people say it but it’s worth saying here. Don’t throw yourself into debt just to give a gift for Christmas. The cast iron is an awesome option to give a lot of gifts that don’t have to cost a lot. However, the other items tend to fall on the more expensive end of the scale. The reason for this is that I tend to land on the fact that gifts shouldn’t be something we’d get for ourselves. A lot of times I’m just not comfortable buying expensive things for myself. Maybe it’s just me but I think there are a lot of women out there that would buy their kids new clothes before they ever bought themselves something nice. If that is the lady in your life, I hope you have the means to be able to bless her beyond reason this Christmas. I already know, the woman in your life definitely deserves it. What is the best gift that you’ve gotten as an adult? For me, that’s a tough question but one year I got a rolling island that was beautiful and worked so well in my old homes. It was truly one of my favorite things. Funny how times change from childhood!Share Gift Guides christmaschristmas giftsgift guidegiftsmother's daypresentswomen's gifts
