My mom has made them for holidays and when we have visitors. There are several people that we know that still, to this day, rave about her sticky buns. Her recipe takes a lot of time though and, while I appreciate her dedication, I don’t always have that much time. Plus, there are some ingredients in her recipe that I don’t really love. It’s got store bought dough which is honestly a bit of a turn-off for me. Working in the food industry- I know what’s in those doughs! I was super happy when I found a recipe that was both quick and had better ingredients. They still aren’t good for you but these quickie stickie buns will be a hit for the whole family.“Bun” Ingredients1 ½ cups flour ¾ cup milk ½ cup water 1 egg 1 ¾ cup flour 2 tsp dry yeast ¼ cup butter ¼ cup sugar 1 tsp saltQuickie Stickie Bun DirectionsIn a large bowl combine 1 ½ cup flour and yeast. (Yes, I know aluminum is bad for you blah, blah. We don’t use it often so it’s not going to kill us in this scenario.)I do not use karo syrup, I’m pretty sure that is bad for you. I buy an organic corn syrup from Azure and it works perfectly fine. Highly recommend. In Summary: Quickie Stickie BunsThese quickie stickie buns pair perfectly with a great big cup of homemade grape juice! Colin and I love them but make sure we keep them only for special occasions like Thanksgiving morning, Christmas, or birthdays.
