Stocking Stuffers Brianna Hart, November 28, 2023December 4, 2023 As a kid, our stockings were always full of lots of treats and goodies. Then as we got older, my mom needed to adapt to where we were at in life. As adults, my mom still fills them with useful things but we also add a couple items of our own to everyone’s socks. I love stockings and they can be so fun with a minimal amount of effort. We’re giving all the gift lists this year- women’s, men’s, homemaker’s and now stocking stuffers! This list of stocking stuffers are some of my absolute favorites to get and to give. SeedsThis, to me, is the ultimate stocking stuffer. Granted, seeds don’t cost a lot of money but they’re something that you need year after year if you grow a garden. Yes, you can save seeds but I don’t personally know if anyone who saves seeds for every single thing they grow. I’d recommend High Mowing Organic Seeds or Botanical Interests.Mason Jar Lid LifterThese things are handier than a pocket on a shirt! I didn’t think it was something that I needed but I love having one in my kitchen. Pressure canned jars can be so difficult to get back open and the lid lifter is a big help. There are some with long handles but I prefer this little unit because it’s more compact and easy to store. I’m all about making the best out of a small kitchen.Canning LidsA homesteader will constantly be in need of more canning lids. I prefer to stock up on these over the off season so that the cost doesn’t all hit at once. I’m all about reusing lids and I have a whole post on that but we do end up needing new ones every year. Lids get bent or go bad and that is why I still keep a large stash of fresh lids on hand.Stainless Measuring Kitchen ToolsI didn’t know I needed stainless measuring spoons and cups until I got them. I had plastic ones but the numbers wore off so I couldn’t tell which was what measurement. The metal ones work so much better and I just feel better about having a little less plastic in my kitchen. We grabbed ours from estate sales but I’ve linked some here that will also work.Box CutterBox cutters are another stocking stuffer that we just can’t have enough of. I feel like no matter how many box cutters we have they always end up not being on hand when we need them. I’m constantly trying to hunt one down or, worse, they get lost or broken. ThreadAny sewer in your life will be thankful for this one. Pick a few colors and throw them in! I love having an extensive thread collection so that I can match whatever I need. It’s so handy! If you’re feeling extra generous you can throw some buttons in there too. Both of these will help even a beginner seamstress so that she can at least mend and repair things.Deodorant One thing is for certain, everyone needs it! If you are buying a non-toxic deodorant they tend to cost a little more than the aluminum filled ones too. I love the attitude deodorant and my husband loves the Dr. Squach. Buying the healthy deodorant can get expensive so we love this stocking stuffer!Automatic FlashlightsThis is actually something that someone gave to me as a stocking stuffer years ago. At first I was like, meh. Then we lost power and I realized just how handy these things are! As soon as the power goes out they automatically turn on. If you live in a two story house they are a must have! Keep them by the steps so you can see to get up and down. Tinctures If this is something that you normally use in your home or something you’ve been wanting to try- Christmas is a great time to grab a few and they make perfect stocking stuffers. My absolute favorite is Ease the Ache from Earthley but to be honest I’ve been impressed by all of the products I tried from them. We usually throw some eczema lotion in my dad’s stocking from them too.Essential OilsDare I say it- another stocking stuffer we just can’t get enough of! Well, that might not be true because I know people with so many oils on hand that they start having to get rid of them. There’s usually some that tend to be used more quickly like lemon, peppermint, and teatree.Drill Bits and/or Saw BladesThese might not be something that is used constantly but they are useful to have a lot of. We break more drill bits than I care to admit and saw blades get dull so it’s helpful to have extras. They both have a lot of different versions that are compatible with different materials. Beyond the standard packs of them there are a lot of specialty types you can grab that can help make projects go quickly and more easily.Electrolytes I drink electrolytes daily and the good for you ones can cost a pretty penny. If you drink filtered water you should be drinking these more often than what you are thinking. My absolute favorite is Just Ingredients and that’s closely followed by Redmond ReLyte. If you’re on a budget the Brandless version also has decent ingredients too.In Summary: Stocking StuffersStocking stuffers don’t have to be difficult and they don’t have to be junk. A lot of people turn to food or candy and while those are great to have as a treat, I personally prefer more practical items. This list was curated with things that can actually be used and serve a purpose. Then maybe just add a candy bar on top of it if you still need something fun.Share Gift Guides christmaschristmas giftgiftgift guide
