Instant Pot Applesauce
The quickest and easiest way to make applesauce.
- 8 Apples
- 2 Tbsp Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Water
Peel, core, and slice your apples
Put the apple slices in your instant pot.
Add 1 cup of water.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top of your apple slices so there is a good layer on them.
Pressure cook for 8 minutes.
You can manually release or naturally release.
Use a potato masher to mash your apples into a sauce.
You don't have to peel the apples but you will taste them in the finished product because the potato masher doesn't break them up.
This makes a decent size batch but you could just fill the instant pot if you wanted. Scale up the water and cinnamon and add time based on if you double or triple the recipe.
If you want super smooth applesauce you could also use an immersion blender. I prefer to keep my hot applesauce a little more chunky (like my grandma use to do).
