1st Phorm Review

I found 1st Phorm through the Andy Frisella Real AF podcast. If you just started to listen to the podcast you’d never guess there was an association. He doesn’t mention it and I’ve listened to many of the podcasts and he doesn’t even promote the product in any way. To me, that means the product is doing well enough and gives it a great reputation. It took some research on my end to find out what his business actually was (then I followed him on Instagram and it became clear as he does promote it there too). I highly recommend the podcast to anyone who wants to stay up to date on worldly events. Andy is just as he claims to be, real AF. It’s so hard to find a product or company that supports patriotic causes so when I realized 1st Phorm would do that I knew I wanted to support them in some way. New products = product reviews, so without further ado here’s my 1st Phorm review!

Product vs. Experience

The first thing that you should know about 1st Phorm is that they aren’t just products. They are also coaches as well! I think it’s important to distinguish this because each section is going to get my reviews. I’m also going to go a little bit more in depth because I’ve applied to be a legionnaire (I’ll explain this) and that’s given me a little bit more experience than the average person working with the company. It’s been a great way to see the inner workings and get a better grasp on who they are and what they are doing.

The App

The first thing I want to review is the app and that is mostly because I LOVE IT. It allows you to track your nutrition and your activity all in one app. It’s also super affordable, I think $14.99 per month which is significantly less than having multiple apps to get all of the features of this one app. Honestly, it’s a steal for the experience you get.

Not only does it allow you to track your activity but it also provides programs for you to utilize. I’m on my 2nd one now and they are really good workouts. You can pick the level that applies to you (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and then also tailor those to the equipment that you have. Each workout has a video that is associated so you know what the move should look like. It allows you to track your progress to see what weights you used last time or what the workout looked like the last time you did it. Plus, it provides some alternate moves too! If you are intermediate but can’t do one more it’s super easy to swap that one out and do something that fits your capabilities.

If you’ve ever used MyFitnessPal you will be familiar with the nutrition on the 1st Phorm app. It essentially works the same but you don’t have to pay for the upgrades. It will assign you macros based on the survey that you take when you set it up and it, obviously, adjusts as you adjust your weight. However, it does allow you to switch your macros and tailor them based on a specific program that you are following too. So many people get caught up trying to hit all four categories that it can be overwhelming. 1st Phorm emphasizes two things when you start- hitting your protein goal and hitting your calorie goal.

The app also comes with a coach that you can pick or be randomly assigned- these are actually the legionnaires. A lot of companies have affiliates that work for them and promote their products for compensation but 1st Phorm wants more than that. They don’t want people just out there promoting their product. They want their people to understand the depths of the products and how they will impact the users. Part of the legionnaire program is in depth training to understand how to help people better reach their goals by utilizing the products available. To clarify, I am not a legionnaire but still doing some work to try to become one. As someone who has lost nearly 80lbs I wish I had someone who could have walked me through what I was doing wrong and helped me achieve my goals more quickly. I’m thankful for access to a coach in the app to help me do just that. If there is something I’m struggling with or I’ve hit a plateau in my progress I am able to reach out to them for advice. Not only that, but there are weekly surveys that I can fill out to get advice on what to do next. The coach will review them and get back to you on where they might be able to help you.

Goals, Checklists, Tracking

I told you, this app has everything. Not only does it allow you to track all of your measurements but it has a weekly checklist to remind you to take them. Not only does it allow you to take your progress pictures but it’s part of the weekly checklist. Plus, it stores those pictures for you so that you can go back and see how far you’ve come which is truly one of the best parts of weight loss. There are weekly checklists which include: take photos, take an assessment (for your coach), weigh in, and add body metrics. The daily tasks include: track macros, drink 120oz or more, sleep 7+hours, 10K steps, hit my protein goal. 1st Phorm truly takes all the steps to make sure you are healthy and not just losing weight. They want all aspects of you to be the very best that they can be and that is why the lists include things like sleep and water intake. Plus, everything you enter in the app is all tracked and held for you in case you need it.

There are so many different trainings and live streams that are available through the app, too. You can watch them live, of course, or you can go back to them and watch them later. Some of the trainings and information will just be announcements from your coach. There are also live streams that are posted almost daily throughout the week to provide you with information. These are from leadership in 1st Phorm, other coaches, and 1st Phorm athletes. Recently I watched one about protein- the different types of protein, the best times to use protein, how to hit protein goals, etc. There is so much information at your fingertips if you are willing to seek it out.

Throughout the year 1st Phorm also hosts several challenges for people to get involved in. Oh, and I should also mention that you can win a large sum of money. Say $60,000…Pretty cool! They have them pretty much every season and, from what I’ve seen, they all last 8 weeks. There are some smaller challenges and charity fundraisers that they host throughout the year as well. It’s all working towards getting you involved and getting you to start tracking your progress. It’s also an effort to get you into a consistent routine to find your dedication and determination towards a lifestyle and not just a quick fix. I’m not a super fit person, I think we all know that by the amount of dessert recipes that I post but I’m participating in the challenges because I want to be the very best that I can be. Y’all I spent so much time complaining about this body instead of being thankful for it. Not only do I owe it to myself to be the best I can be but I owe it to my family, to my husband, and, mostly to God too. I can’t be who He created me to be if I’m sitting around tired and lazy all the time and that’s the honest to goodness truth.

The reason I didn’t write this earlier is because I’m still trying out some of the products! There is such a wide variety that I haven’t been able to get to even a small fraction of them. I do feel like I finally have somewhat of a solid base to tell you about though and I’ll be sure to keep you updated as I try more, too.

1st Phorm products
1st Phorm products are high quality and they have a wide variety.

The Phormula-1 Natural chocolate flavor protein was the very first 1st Phorm product that I tried and I loved it. It’s important to note that I’m switching to these products from P.E. Science which is another well known protein brand. Comparing the two I found some immediate differences. The 1st Phorm is a lot lighter than the PE Science, to start. This means that it’s a less dense drink and the flavor isn’t quite as potent. As someone who doesn’t want a lot of sugar or sweet in their life (leads me to more sugars and sweets) I appreciate the flavor. The next flavor that I’m currently trying is the Strawberry Phormula-1. I don’t love the smell of it but the flavor is great. It’s like a lightened up version of strawberry milk.

The collagen natural with dermaval is my #1 favorite 1st Phorm product. A scoop of the salted caramel flavor in my coffee in the morning is absolute perfection. I’ve also tried the french vanilla and the taste is pretty good but the smell is something I don’t love. I’m not sure anything will top the salted caramel. It’s a healthy version of a latte and it’s incredible. I love that I can get protein first thing in the morning and it makes me look forward to my morning coffee even more.

Listen, I was terrified to try this. A carb powder? What about allllllll the people out there telling us to avoid carbs? As someone with hormones, I need carbs. I’m not hating on the keto diet but I do believe there is a time and a place for it. As someone who is trying desperately to heal their hormones and thyroid I know that eliminating this food group would not be a wise decision. Anyways, the purpose of this powder is to help feed your muscles that protein. The carbs get into your bloodstream and help it flow to your muscles. So, after your workout you drink both protein and ignition (but not together, I made that mistake) and it helps your body recover more quickly. I’ve done a lot of workouts in my life and can honestly say even though I went from nearly zero workouts to some intense weights, my muscles still feel good. I don’t wake up so sore I’m not sure I’m going to be able to work out that day. There is such a thing as too sore and I’m confident that this product is helping the protein work so that I don’t feel that way.

This whole 1st Phorm review is basically me saying I love this and I love that but I honestly can’t help it. Another great part of 1st Phorm is that they look at all of your health as a whole. That means they also provide supplements. Right now I’ve tried probiotics and omegas. As part of our fertility update I mentioned that we had to be on antibiotics. That means all the healthy bacteria in our guts got wiped out. It’s important to be on probiotics for at least a couple of months to help get that back. If I wasn’t on such a strict regime for supplements and meds I would also be trying the multi-pack that they have. Heck, they even have prenatal vitamins! If we do conceive and I have to switch I know what I’ll be going for. 1st Phorm’s goal for you is so much more than weight loss or muscle gain, it’s true health.

In Summary: 1st Phorm Review

As you can see, there is a lot about 1st Phorm that I love. To mention again, I’m not affiliated with the company and I don’t make any money on this post. I simply like their message, their methods, their products, and what they stand for. Obviously, there are also a lot of things that I haven’t tried yet, too. One of those being their apparel which I’m really eyeing lately. This is a company that I intend to stand by.

What is your favorite protein powder and why? I’ve tried so many but still like to hear everyone’s opinions.
